Coaching disclaimer

CoachConnection connects coaches to practice peer coaching with each other. This disclaimer explains what peer coaching on the platform is, and what it is not.

Coaching is not therapy or professional advice

Peer coaching is a supportive, forward-looking conversation between coaches practicing their craft. It is not therapy, counselling, or mentoring, and it is not a substitute for any of these. If you need that kind of support, please seek a suitably qualified professional.

Coach to the ICF Code of Ethics

Every coach on CoachConnection is expected to uphold the ICF Code of Ethics in every session. That means holding confidentiality, maintaining clear professional boundaries, coaching honestly and without judgement, and putting your peer's wellbeing first. These standards are what make peer coaching a safe space to practice, and abiding by them is a condition of using the platform.

Sessions are arranged and run between coaches

Coaches on CoachConnection schedule and run their own sessions over their own videoconference platforms. The Institute of Coaching Studies does not track, take part in, or take responsibility for individual sessions, or for the conduct, advice, or actions of any coach on CoachConnection.

Your responsibility

You take part in peer coaching at your own discretion and are responsible for how you act on anything discussed in a session. If a conversation raises something that needs professional help, please seek it.

Verification is a check, not a guarantee

We review the credential information members provide, but verification is not a guarantee of any coach's skill, conduct, or the outcome of a session.
